Hi,

Can someone please confirm that Optus CDMA utilises the Telstra
network and sites?  I regularly visit a marginal country area (fixed
position) using Telstra CDMA and I'm considering changing to Optus for
economic reasons. (My broadband is with them).  I don't want to risk
losing what little coverage I have on Telstra.

Stewart.

That's exactly what it is.  With MNP, you can take your existing number
from whatever network.  Prior to MNP, you'd even get a "Telstra number"
even though you were an Optus customer.

Thanks for the prompt reply Graeme.  Really appreciated.

I intend to do something about it tomorrow.

Stewart.

Is 1X or mobile internet available through Optus CDMA? If so, who's
homepage would be used, Optus or Telstra?

TIA

I can't answer that question for you as my service is billed by Telstra.

As soon as I transferred billing to Optus, my data stopped working and I
haven't botherred ringing up to find out how to/if I can make it work
again.

Yup, I have my Nokia 2280 CDMA phone tacked onto my Optus GSM bill with
their $5/month CDMA plan - definitely still Telstra CDMA though. :)
