Calls to Kids Help Line from Virgin Mobile

I was just browsing the Virgin Mobile website. I noticed that calls to
the Kids Helpline 1800 number are free on Virgin Mobile.

I thought that was quite a decent thing for them to do.

It is. Optus (Virgin's network provider) doesn't charge for those
calls, and it looks like Virgin has elected not to either.

That's pretty decent of them too then.

Suddenly, I feel quite sick. I've just posted two messages saying that
phone companies are decent. I think I need to go and lie down.

I suppose when you think about it if Optarse aren't charging for those
calls then why should Virgin?

If they are charging for something that doesn't cost them, they could
probably get done over by the TIO. They might have to change their name
then! :)

What an idiot. You cant be in trouble for charging for a service you
provide, irregardless of the cost to you

It just comes out of Optus's sponsorship that they pay to KHL.

Thanks for the info, I volunteer at Lifeline and knowing we can tell a
kid they can call Kids Helpline from their mobile for free is good.

BUT, do Telstra or Vodafone do the same?

Telstra and other companies will soon learn never to support any companies,
as they are blackmailed into continuing
