I keep getting these annoying SMS messages with cricket scores on my mobile.
Obviously some idiot entered the wrong mobile phone number somewhere.
What's the easiest way to find out who is sending them ? The SenderID
shows only 2511 or 2512 ? Does anybody know where they are coming from ?

What's the best way to combat this mobile SPAM ?

Thx,

LG

At first inspection of the short code, it looks suspiciously like an
Optus sports update.  Check the SMSC (message centre) number:  is it
+614119900xx?

Are you an Optus (or Optus SP) customer?  If so, I suspect the messages
are coming from in-house, in which case call your SP customer service
'value added services' team and get them to switch them off.

Can't check the SMSC on the receiving phone (bl... pocketpc based phones
don't let you do that). I guess I could swap it into a Nokia phone. But
I guess I just ring Optus.

You were right about that. They were from Optus Zoo. Even though they
were never requested. All sorted.
