Current Promotion free usage until February 2006 then 95c a day after that.
I doubt they'll have PTT compatible prepaid packs ready for Christmas.

you just have to activate it on your prepaid account
if you have a phone that supports PTT

Push To Talk Is Now Available On Optus Pre-Paid!
FREE until the end of February 2006!

 a.. Optus is the first carrier to bring you Push to Talk to your Pre-Paid
Mobile. What's more, as an Optus Pre-Paid customer, you can Push to Talk for
FREE until the end of February 2006! Then you can continue to Push to Talk
for the low cost of 95¢ a day, 7 days a week.
 b.. You must have a PTT compatible handset, then you can Push to Talk to
any Optus Pre-Paid and Optus Post-Paid customers who also have a PTT
compatible handset and have set up PTT.
 c.. You must register for Optus Zoo and login to use this service.

Oh and they do have prepaid PTT packs, the Nokia 5140i.
