All 3 phones are sold locked.

Agreeing to purchasing one is agreeing that it will be sold to you, locked

I'm sure if you were paying it, it would be exuberant.

Face facts. You bought a phone which is not currently unlockable in the
grander scheme of things, compared to, say, a 2G Nokia.,

Pay to unlock, or wait a while. Possibly forever

Kinda like waiting for Telstra to replace the CDMA network (forever)

3 Australia say the Nokia 6680 CANNOT be unlocked.  Which is a load of
frog sh.t.  They CAM unlock it they just choose NOT to.

If a handset is purchased outright or it has been paid out then there is
no reason why it should remain locked.  3 should unlock their phones in
this situation.

Let's face it if they want to keep customers the best way is to provide
a decent level of service and support and not lock people in.

Not necessarily. They might not have ever requested the unlocking codes for
them, as they dont intend them to be unlocked.

YOU dont get to make that decision, THEY do.
