G'day all

I bought a V3x off ebay, they guy that sold it says they got 2 in
their plan.
I am using my optus simcard in it at the moment, but want to change to
Three when my current plan runs out.

Does anything need to be done to the phone at all, eg the web
sessions, or does it need a new firmware?

It has all this Telstra startup and shutdown screen crap on it at the
moment.

Cheers

Being a 3G capable phone that is obviously unlocked there should be no
reason why you can't connect to 3.

To Debrand this phone you will have to search the net or eBay to find
software that will remove the Tel$tra crap.

I'll look into it, i'm guessing it requires an unbranded firmware
flash?

Sorry I can't help you with that mate, I'm not exactly a Motorola fan.
Just familiar with 3 and 3G.  Good Luck anyway.

basic 3g services will work no problem, voice sms, videocall. But you
will need 3's operator settings for planet3, internet and MMS. These
can be found on www.aussie3g.com. Also, since your phone is not a 3
original you will not be able to use most 3 planet3 services. You can
read text and download song tracks, but download video and mobiletv
streaming wont work since your phone doesnt have the correct security
certificates (A flash of 3 branded australian firmware would enable you
to do this). Also, i dont believe three will just let you sign up for a
new plan without getting a phone, you may need to go prepaid.

Thanks,
Yeah had a feeling it was something like this.
I asked at 3 the other day, and you can do a BYO phone plan.
Thanks again for the info.
