James Bell - 06 Oct 2006 12:10 GMT A well run company, with world-beating management, an excellent product, loyal staff and a great brand image will ensure that T3 shares go through the roof.
Please support your country and buy these shares.

Derek - 09 Oct 2006 08:21 GMT I was going to let it go, but since you insist.
.05c = .05 of a cent or 5% of a cent or 1 twentieth of a cent. I guess you meant to write 5 cents. ie: $.05 or 5c

>> I am lucky I can type I am laughing so much! > [quoted text clipped - 4 lines] > lived > overseas. Intel Inside - 06 Oct 2006 15:17 GMT Yes, the "PMG and Telecom" did serve "this country well for many years". However since then we've seen hundreds of millions of dollars wasted buying speculative companies in Hong Kong, Executive excesses and no accountability from management. Anyone could see that a nuclear scientist was not necessarily the best 'credential' for running a Telecommunications company yet Switkowski was given a free reign for years and we've all seen the share price drop during and since. Sol should not be blamed for everything.

And while those profits are not the highest in the entire country, they arent that much lower than the highest.

Some of the business press seems to suggest that the "profits" (or at least the dividends) are not all that they would seem. Not arguing that they don't leave the rest of the segment for dead, but it seems to be alleged that the dividends have been artificially boosted for some time now by drawing on funds other than strict "profits".

Yes, Telstra is paying out more in dividends than they are currently earning and they obviously cant do that forever, but that is an entirely different matter to having profits that leave all the rest of the telco industry in this country for dead.
> Not arguing that they don't leave the rest of the segment for dead, but > it seems to be alleged that the dividends have been artificially boosted > for some time now by drawing on funds other than strict "profits". Yes, they are essentially using some of their capital to pay the difference between the profit and the dividend.
They do that to attempt to prop up the share price.
That isnt technically that different to buying back shares to do the same thing, something Telstra cant currently do but which is something plenty of the other majors in the country do like Woolys and BHP etc.

We already own Telstra, why should we re-buy it, and should they sell something that isn't theirs to sell? Before all this crap, Telecom was a world leader in the telecommunications field, these days they a lagging behind. Now with shareholders to please, the profits won't be recycled back into itself. Therefore the share prices can't go through the roof, because the shareholders will be skimming off the top.

... but yeah, it was all to easy. Gone are the days of the well crafted, intellectual but subtly inflammatory trolls. This was short, sweet and had a flashing neon sign above it - probably why it attracted so many victims?

Well, the shares couldn't go any lower. So I recommend a STRONG BUY! Easy money!
NextG is the future of the internet and telecommunications in this country. Sol has done well with designing this 4G network with the external help of Alcatel.
The NextG network will replace any existing telecommunications network that exists in Australia. The other providers just won't be able to compete. Highspeed wireless internet for all!
Mauried - 09 Oct 2006 00:12 GMT >> A well run company, with world-beating management, an excellent product, >> loyal staff and a great brand image will ensure that T3 shares go through [quoted text clipped - 12 lines] >that exists in Australia. The other providers just won't be able to >compete. Highspeed wireless internet for all! You might wish to do a liitle research on how Wireless Internet works, and have a look at how much spectrum is available for the Network and more importantly, how much the Govt charges for the spectrum needed.
A piece of wire from my local exchange to my house I dont have to share with anyone, unlike wire less which is a shared medium.
Also you might wish to compare the prices for existing wireless networks with prices for cable / ADSL and not surprisingly the wireless networks are always more expensive.
