Anyone willing to suggest arrangements for mobile communication with Oz
while travelling through Europe for 2 months?

Really depends on the detail of what you want to use it for.

There's a big difference between wanting something
someone can call you on for a reasonable price and
being able to make lots of calls in europe cheaply etc.

It can make sense to buy a suitable prepaid sim when
you get there and stick it in your gsm phone if you dont
need to receive calls much or are happy to tell those who
are likely to call what your temporary prepaid number is.

Thanks for the response.

There won't be lots of calls, and there is no problem with giving the
callers the temporary prepaid number. It's to maintain contact with Oz once
or twice a week, and to make accommodation bookings if internet facilities
are difficult or expensive.

Does this mean getting a GSM phone on Oz and a suitable prepaid sim in
Europe?

Yeah, that's one obvious approach and simplifys
updating the GSM phone when you are back here again.

You can obviously get the GSM phone over there too, but
quite a few of those are locked so you need to be careful.
