Optus and Vodafone share their 3G Network. Telstra has their own NextG Network operating at 850 MHz. So far in my experience the Telstra/3 UMTS network has a larger coverage footprint than Optus/Vodafone UMTS. For example, areas of the Redlands in Brisbane with existing Telstra/3 UMTS coverage have only just in the past fortnight been enabled with Optus/Vodafone UMTS coverage. The Redcliffe peninsula is another example. |
