Need a backup sim (require 3g or GPRS internet connection support as well)
to swap in for regional areas (NSW and Vic). (primary sim is
voda...unsuitable for regional..patchy for calls as is).
Anything prepaid for Telstra? Second option is Optus, less coverage.

Depends on where. They are all different. No one is better. The only
one with the largest coverage is Telstra's 850mhz NextG, but they
don't do prepaid at the moment.

Try Telstra prepaid, or use Southern Cross Mobile (Telstra reseller)
