samsung sgh-x680 - viewing text file

I want to download a file via bluetooth and view it using the samsung
sgh-x690, I tried file extention .txt and tried to save text as a file
elsewhere around the phone with no success.

I want to read from the web without paying phone network data charges.

The ways out I can think of are:
-java app the reads text files
-point a browser locally
-find a text file format the phone understands
[The phone allows mp3, video, still pictures and has text editing of
small files but no obvious way of using the text functionality on an
(arbitrary large) file]

Anyone have any experience in this regard?

>has text editing of small files

I mean editing of small pieces of text such as text messages,
without showing what file, if any, they relate to internally
