NextG/PDAs i-Mate JasJam and Palm Treo - a coupla questions

Considering the I-Mate Jasjam mobile phone/PDA to replace my aging Palm
Zire 71 and my reliable but limited in functionality Samsung A501 NextG
phone.

Now, it has a Windows type O/S and can apparently run Outlook and other
MS apps. What I'd like to know is if I run Outlook on my PC can it sync.
with my calendar, contacts, etc.?

Currently I can enter in data into the Palm Desktop software and it will
sync with the Palm. If I enter data into the PDA the Desktop software
will sync with it (it's done by pressing a "Hotsync" button on the PDA's
cradle).

I presume that the Jasjam will do the same thing, correct? If so, how
would it connect? The blurb that I read doesn't mention any USB
connectivity options, just Bluetooth, WiFi, etc.

Also, anyone care to recommend a decent site where you can get apps,
games, etc. for the Jasjam?

[edit] just read some reviews at cnet.com.au. Not too flattering, it
appears. Lockups, resets required, flaky software, poor reception, etc.
Then there are those who reckon that it's fine.

Now, having said all this, there's the Palm Treo that does a similar
job. However, it looks somewhat bulky (wide looking), whereas the JasJam
is narrower and appears more ergonomically friendly as a phone.

But if the Palm is like the other products from Palm, it may be a good
bit of gear. Just wondering if anyone here has any views, experiences or
whatever with either phone.

Yes. The phone should even come with a copy of Outlook. My Jamin (previous
model) did.

Yes, it syncs via USB. You can also sync via bluetooth and I think IR.

Ouch! The worst email prog. Any of them run a decent OS like Linux?

Why is Outlook bad? I'm considering moving from Eudora to Outlook. One,
it has an all-in-one package that could replace what I'm doing now with
Eudora, Palm Desktop and other apps if I go a NextG phone/PDA route. Of
course, this means finding a suitable phone. The JasJam isn't receiving
too many flattering reviews from what I've been reading, so far. Which
is a pity as it appears to be the best suited for my needs or wants.

Yes, according to teh blurb it does.

Anyway, I've decided against it for the time being. Too many customer
feedback reports complaining of lockups, reboots and other issues.

It uses USB, but it should have a section in the instructions on how to use
Bluetooth
