Telstra Lied Again - CDMA to NEXT-G Migration Special Offers

A couple of months back when Telstra had a 'special offer' of double your
credit on your first recharge when migrating from CDMA to NEXT-G (maximum
$40, what a joke lol), Telstra's PR spin doctor John Rolland wrote in a
letter that this would be the very LAST special offer prior to 28 January
2008. The best on offer at the time was LG TU500 for $249.

Surprise, surprise - Telstra are now flogging the Samsung A411 through
Australia Post retail outlets for $199 with a $40 cashback, making an
effective price of $159 (cashback via
http://www.australiapostpromotions.com.au). I know the Telstra apologists
will claim that Australia Post are doing this, but the reality is that they
must source these prepaid packages through Telstra/Brightstar, and hence
Telstra are in fact giving another better special offer than the crap they
offered previously.

I would encourage anybody who took the bait previosuly to complain to
Telstra (and escalate via TIO if necessary) and seek a refund.

John Rolland isn't employed as a spin doctor. He's a line manager.

Funny how almost every letter that comes from Telstra is signed by him. He
is a spin doctor. Line managers don't generally write to the public. IOf he
is a line manager then he is simply signing the spin doctor letters

That may well be the case. Nonetheless, he *is* a line manager.

He's the head of Customer Sales and Service (or something like that)

Most letters to Consumer customers are signed by him,

And have been signed by him (or his equivalent) for years

I would think that everyone reading this newsgroup *except you*
would know what a line manager is.

Let me try to explain in words that you can understand.

When you go to CentreLink for your payment, you talk to a clerk.
That person has a boss. That boss has a boss. And so on up the line.
Those people are what's called 'line managers'.

It's a pity your repertoire is so stale, Roddles. The first impression was
"pfft, wadda w.nker", and it doesn't get any better, even after many years
of the same tired old repeated phrases.

You never did say which town, Rod.

Oh, you don't have a clue? Why don't you just say so?

Oh, that would be too honest? Why don't you just leave it go?

Oh, that would mean backing down? Why don't you just say so?
