Telstra is getting ready to pull the plug on the CDMA network.
From January 28 the old CDMA handsets will be useless and unable to even
make emergency calls as Telstra makes way for the new Next G technology.

Telstra Countrywide south east region general manager, Ian Peters, and his
team will be making their way along the South Coast to talk to people about
their concerns and make sure every customer in the area is happy with the
new service.

"The new network is just as good even better than the previous ones and any
problems that have arisen are mostly due to handset issues," said Mr Peters.

Members from Ian's team will be in Bega and Mr Peters himself will be at the
Telstra shop in Merimbula today, Wednesday, January 16.

"If anyone is not having a good experience with the new network or if they
are having handset issues we want to help them sort it out.

"We definitely need that to happen, we want people to be happy with the
service."

Mr Peters said there has been a lot of confusion surrounding the networks
and how they work.

"Next G will eventually take over the rest of them because it is the leading
technology and Telstra is at the start of the technology not at the end."

Mr Peters said the reasons they are changing to Next G is because it will
give very good coverage and it will be put on every Telstra tower.

And it remains to be seen if the new govt is actually stupid enough to let it.

And they wont turn the cdma system off until every single one is eh ?

Yeah, right.

> "The new network is just as good even better than the previous ones

And we'll see if the acma is actually stupid enough to buy that bare faced lie.

Pity about the non 'mostly', fuckwit.

Well whoopy f.cking do. You'll have to pardon us if we dont actually cream our jeans or sumfin.

SURE you do.

> "We definitely need that to happen, we want people to be happy with the service."

Yep, because otherwise the acma will make an obscene gesture
in your general direction and wont let you turn the cdma system off.

> Mr Peters said there has been a lot of confusion surrounding the networks and how they work.

And bare faced lies from Telstra.

> "Next G will eventually take over the rest of them

Bet that never happens.

> because it is the leading technology

That aint what determines what takes over, fuckwit.

That aint what determines what takes over, fuckwit.

Another bare faced lie. The real reason telstra is changing to NextG is so
that they arent forced to allow Optarse and their competitors to resell it.

The new govt should force them to do that anyway and shouldnt allow the cdma system to be turned off either.
