TELSTRA's mobile revenue grew by more than 10 per cent cent for the first
half, sending it past $2.7 billion for the six months to December 31,
boosted by a continuing surge in wireless broadband customers.

This has seen the company's SMS revenues for the December half overtaken by
other mobile data sales for the first time.

Data accounted for 30 per cent of Telstra's mobile services revenue in the
six months to December 2007, rising to 31.5 per cent in the month of
December, Telstra chief executive Sol Trujillo told the Global Mobile
Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

Telstra's mobile revenue growth increases its share of the market, trumping
rivals Optus and Vodafone, which recently reported revenues growth of just
6.4 per cent and 3.4 per cent, respectively.

It would be a hell of a lot more surprising if that didnt increase, fuckwit.

Easy to claim, hell of a lot harder to actually substantiate that claim.

It tells you that data traffic is increasing a sh.t load
It doesnt infer anything about SMS

Industry, not Telstra, collates those figures
