TELSTRA boss Sol Trujillo says the telco giant has begun to "click on all
cylinders" to post a 13 per cent surge in first-half net profit to $1.9
billion.

Strong growth in its mobile and broadband businesses drove revenue 6.2 per
cent higher to $12.4 billion and led Telstra to upgrade its fiscal 2008
outlook.

Mr Trujillo said his five-year transformation plan - first revealed in
November 2005 - was revitalising every part of Telstra and ranking the
company high among its global peers.

"We're basically beginning to click on all cylinders," he said.

"There's not a part of the business that's not improving year on year."

If my car "clicked" on all four cylinders, i'd take it to the mechanic
and get it fixed!
