Hi there,

Is there any way to use Sony Ericsson T610's dialup service from iPAQ
3870 using Bluetooth medium?

I have both the devices. For setup, I selected "Bluetooth Dialup
Modem" in the internet settings on iPAQ 3870. Then I turned on
Bluetooth on iPAQ 3870 as well as on Sony Ericsson T610. Then I
clicked connect on iPAQ. I see that my mobile phone is dialing my
internet provider's number but somehow just after a second it doesn't
wait and goes to standby mode and I see this is happening twice
(meaning iPAQ then retries, I guess), and after that iPAQ displays the
error message that it cannot continue.

Moreover, when I see My Devices -> iPAQ PocketPC -> Service List on
T610, it just shows "Object Push" and "File Transfer" and no "Dial-up"
services. Do I need to install T610 specific dialup modem driver on my
iPAQ 3870, if yes? then from where can I find such driver? Thanks in
advance.

I'm not sure about 3870, but I was able to use T610 with my iPAQ 1945
(Pocket PC 2003) using both Bluetooth and IR modems. It worked like a charm.
No additional software was needed. I'd suggest you set up IR dial-up first
to make sure your dialing properties are correct and then change modem type
from IR to Bluetooth.

Thanks a lot, initially when I tried with just a bluetooth it didn't
get connected, but as you suggested that first try with infrared and
then bluetooth, it worked. I used "Generic IrDA modem" for connecting
via infrared and then I used "Bluetooth Dialup Modem" for connecting
via bluetooth. Both the drivers are supplied with iPAQ 3870. It is
strange that at first it didn't get connected with bluetooth, but
trying with infrared and then just change the modem type to bluetooth
got it worked.

Thanks again.
