I have a spv c500.

If I leave Bluetooth always switched on will it impair battery life  when
not connected to any thing?

Cheers

Will the radio consume power when it's turned on but nobody listens to it?

I wondered if it just sat listening for a signal from something else or
sends out a signal looking for something else when on.

Didn't realise this was alt.cellular.Bluetooth.smartarse

When BT is switched on it can either be active, or passive; active mode, it
will send out pairing pulses searching for passive devices to reply....
Passive mode will sit waiting for another device to pair to. The other
mode - when two devices are passing information between themselves.

BTW A radio transceiver even when not transmitting consumes power, just not
much.

So, am I right in assuming when it is on but not paired it consumes power
but not much, and when it is in discoverable mode it is actively searching?

Thanks
