Hi All,
I have an LG VX8100 cell phone. It is Bluetooth and MP3 capable. I just
bought a Motorola HT820 Bluetooth stereo headset and was surprised to find
out that it doesn't pick up MP3 audio from my cell phone.
Which (if any) Bluetooth stereo headset will play wireless MP3's from my
cell phone?
Thanks!

That's more a issue of the phone, not the headset.
I don't believe any phone will play the MP3's through bluetooth. I
could be wrong...

There's a specific "profile" required for the bt stereo headset to play
music from a cell or any other music device. The vx 8300 definitely includes
it, the 8100 may not.

Well, there are two standards for audio over Bluetooth: One is called
Bluetooth audio and delivers mono sound, with 8 Bit and 8kHz
sample-rate in both directions. This is generally used for headsets and
handsfree devices and is good enough for voice transmission, but you
would not want to listen to music with this.
The other standard is Advanced audio and delivers up to stereo, 16 Bit
48 kHz in one direction only. This is what headphones use, but next to
never found on cell phones. (Most headphones that I've encountered also
support Bluetooth audio to be used as headsets.)
Your cell phone only supports Bluetooth audio, so even if you could
route the music through Bluetooth you wouldn't want to listen to it for
more than a minute.
I did a quick search and apparently there actually are some cell phones
supporting Advanced audio: http://tinyurl.com/htsnp (the page is in
German because I'm unaware of an international equivalent to this
database). Note that I don't know any of these phones so I can't say
whether they are really capable of sending MP3 music to a stereo
headphone.

Huh? That one only says if will receive calls from a cell phone, it says
nothing about MP3 from the cell phone. It might...but the add says nothing
to that effect.

Then, if you don't mind me saying, you're not looking very hard. It was the
word 'music' that gave me the clue. It even lists the compatible phones -
which not all are because of A2DP - as does Expansys, which includes
reviews. If that doesn't give enough detail, try this site which I find the
best for checking out things like this:
