Hi all, got a bit of a problem here....
I am running WinXP (SP1), the installation is <2 weeks old.
TDK Bluetooth USB adaptor
TDK Blue5 Bluetooth adaptor to my Palm Vx
Sony Ericsson T610
Sony Ericsson HBM 30 Headset
I can install all the TDK software on my Win ME laptop and all the
devices find each other, I can sync the Palm over BT etc. When I
install the software on my main PC however, it appears to install ok ,
the USB dongle is found and drivers are installed and it (the dongle)
appears to be working OK.
When I click on "my Bluetooth places", there is nothing in the window
unlike on my laptop which has lots of icons, then the Bluetooth
configuration starts. The first thing wrong is that my computer name
is not already in the box and none of the settings seem to stick. Each
time click on "my Bluetooth places" it wants to configure the software
but never does. Even by going through device manager, I still cannot
get it to work. It can find my Blue5 adaptor during discovery as I say
it never seems to save the data.
I have tried installing straight from the CD with a plain vanilla
setup, I've also installed with the SP1 patch on the Cd, with the same
results.
I am running Norton AV 2002, can this be a source of problems? It
never seems to interfere with installations normally.
Machine is Epox 8RDA3+,
AMD XP2800+
1.5gig ram
NVidia 5900 Ultra GFX
SB Audigy Platinum EX
Logitech Cordless RF keyboard & mouse.
Regards, Jeff.

It might be a corrupted set of profile information for this user... You can
try this:
- unplug the adapter
- create new user with Admin rights
- log in as the new user
- remove the Bluetooth software
- reboot
- log in as the new user again
- install the Bluetooth software
- reboot
- log in as the new user and see if it works
- log in as original user and see if it works
