Thought I'd post this as many of us are seeing problems with the Jabra B/T
headsets...

*** Personally, I tired 3 headsets in Fry's, all had the same problem. If
ALL shipments for a month or 2 had this problem, maybe all that Fry's have
are bad. I just may try them all, returning the ones that don't work
correctly.

Jabra Response -
Scott:

The problem you are experiencing is that your headset is defective.  The
engineers have stated before that there is a problem in some of the headset
transmitters.  I am not a technician or engineer and that is why I asked you
to clarify.  Thank you for providing me with the website, now I can trace
and find out what people have to say.  Everytime I asked customers where
they get certain information from, they get scared and never respond.  The
only thing I can offer at this time is to try and take this issue up with a
supervisor for some alternatives at 800-327-2230.

I hope this helps and thank you again for the information.  Have a nice
weekend!

I'm just back from Fry's where I tried 8 more 250's and they all worked the
same.. interference when talking when the phone and headset are greater than
2' apart AND there is something, like your body / head, between the phone
and the headset.

This product does not seem to be ready to prime time unless you want to live
with less than expected results.

Scott,

And I thought it was just me with problems!

So I have now tried 4 in the UK with exactly the problem you describe, RF
performance is crap.

Must be a big batch problem they have with their transmitters if it exists
in this scale both sides of the Atlantic :-)

I also suspect that as the "receive" is poor that in addition to their
transmitters been duff their receivers are also as "deaf as a post".

Such a shame as the design is so nice.

As with yourself I have used a Plantronics M3000, RF performance far better
but it makes my ear ache!

Plantronics guts in a JABRA body?

I'll be most interested to hear how you get on, if you need any support with
convincing JABRA they have a problem let me know.

Regards,

Paul

Good input Paul.

The best one I have found, is also one of the least expensive..

http://www.tekkeon.com/site/

You can use the Habra gel ear part from the corded jar headset if you want -
over the ear part. I have found I can use this with or without the ear
strap. With works best for me as there is NO pressure on the ear.

It's not perfect, but it's not bad - comparing to the others.

Plantronics makes a neckband as well as a headband accessory for the
M3000.  Both are readibly available in the UK.  I googled and all I
found was UK sites.  However, there is one US based called Founders
Telecom at http://www.founderstelecom.com.  They had both styles of the
accessory.  I couldn't decide so I ordered them both.  I actually use
the neckband accessory.  It makes the M3000 comfortable to wear.  I
actually had a small sore on my ear wearing the standard earloop.  That
might be my fault because I wasn't wearing it right, but the neckband
accessory is a huge help to me.  They are worth the money at $20 each.
I honestly wish more bt headsets had normal headset gear instead of all
the nonstandard stuff they have.  I had to ask for the headband
accessory in my order comments.  It wasn't on the page I used.
