I was wondering how their service was and how their Customer Support
rated?  I constantly see them brag about superior customer service and
stuff, and was wondering if anyone had any experience that would back
that up.

Who are you talking about?  Whose customer support?  You're just a tad
vague since you left this query in alt.cellular which could be any
number of wireless operators or outfits.

Eric, long hard day? The subject of the post should provide your answer.

Yeah I forgot that U.S. Cellular was not a nationwide provider.  The
company U.S. Cellular provides service for the Chicago, LA and some
midwest markets, servicing almost a million customers.  U.S. Cellular
runs these adds touting their "superior" customer service and was just
wondering if they were as good as they said.

What do you mean by LA?  Los Angeles or Louisiana?  US Cellular
doesn't serve either.  See
http://people.ku.edu/~cinema/wireless/uscc_cel.html for a complete
overview of cellular markets served by US Cellular.

Actually, as of 03/31/04, US Cellular was serving over 4.5 M
customers.

Yeah I was looking at the wrong coverage map.  U.S. Cellular covers a
lot of the midwest, including the Chicago area and parts of northern
Indiana.  In fact, they just set up shop here in the South Bend area
just a few months ago and have really become a force to be reckoned
with.

When I first saw this message subject, I thought "of course, there
are cellular users who are in the U.S. in this newsgroup". Then I
figured out that the question was referring to the provider named
"U.S. Cellular". :-)

LOL... I didn't mean for that to sound vague... I meant the provider
named "U.S. Cellular".  They provide coverage in the Chicago, LA and
various midwest markets.

I have been a US Cellular customer for about 7 years and live in mid
Missouri.  I travel from coast to coast, both on business and pleasure.
I have yet to find an area where I could not use my phone (unlike many
other providers whose customers travel to my area).  The couple of times
I had a problem with a phone, they gave me a "loaner" and were prompt on
the fix.  I have nothing but good things to say about US Cellular.

It wasn't evident to me that they were talking about the *carrier*
U.S. Cellular rather than U.S. Cellular as in cellular providers in
the U.S.
