Hi all. I am looking to get an unlimited phone plan and new phone for work.
I have to forward all the reception calls to this phone during the day so
that I can roam the office. It is in the Mississauga area. What would be the
best service plan and phone to go with it. (I thought of the Fido $45
unlimited deal).

Your suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks!

If I am not mistaken, I believe that sprint offers an unlimited plan
for about $165--maybe go to the sprint side and search or ask.

I believe that's Sprint Complete Sense, is it not... that's the SCS package
with unlimited local and long distance landline calling plus unlimited SPCS
calling. They also have one just with unlimited local and long distance
landline for about half that price.

No unlimited cellular-only AFAIK.

Its not shown on the web site, and in any event you'd be stuck with the
poor SprintPCS phones, Network coverage and abysmal Customer Service.

Troll - you've said in other posts that you are happy with the technical
aspects of Sprint's network.

Hold on a minute.  Sprint Canada's mobile system is completely different
from Sprint USA.  Are you sure Steve that he is talking about the same
"Sprint" that you are.  Sprint Canada is GSM.  It is essentially a Microcell
reseller.

"Robert M" is a well-known alt.cellular.sprintpcs troll.

He lives in Texas and has complained primarily about Customer
Service (although he likes to twist things around to suit his rants), but
even he has said that SPCS's network has generally performed OK. Customer
Service has been the primary target of his rants.

This isn't a direct answer to your question, but what about a cordless or
wi-fi option since you are talking about using the phone throughout a single
office.  I presume you've tried cordless and they don't stretch, but there
are a couple of extended range setups designed for use in plants that go
much farther.  They cost about US$600, but this is a one off exepnse.  YOu
can find the phone I'm talking about at hellodirect.com.  Once you find it,
search the web for a better price.  Hellodirect tends to be high.

If your office is wired for Wi-Fi, that might be another option.  You can
get several different phones designed to go cordless over a wi-fi net.  You
can either set up an asterisks server, or get a cheap VOIP line with free
incoming calls.  vonage.ca is one place (but hardly the only place) for
these lines.

You should also note that on most business plans, you pay by the call to
forward phone calls.  If you adopt a call forwarding strategy, make sure
you've selected the appropriate plan for the line being forwarded as well.
