Dear all,

I have a tri-band phone under contract here in the UK.  I wish to use
my phone for an extended period (2-3 months) in the US, primarily for
making local US calls, but would also like to be able to recieve
incoming calls (from the UK).

I really would like to use my own phone, so I guess what I am after is
a pre-paid SIM in the US.  I will be mostly in Orgeon, but also in
California and Nevada.

Any ideas of what's available?

Many Thanks,
Tim

Either prepaid "easy speak" from T-Mobile which is $50 for a "kit"
which includes the SIM and $30 of talk time.  You can get these
usually at corporate T-Mobile outlets and some independent dealers.

You can sign up for AT&T Wireless "Go Phone" service which is not a
prepaid service in the traditional sense.  Airtime minutes are loaded
at a prearranged time and deducted from a credit card (or in the case
of a US national from a bank account.)

cingular also offers prepaid, but they are not in Oregon.
