Seems like they're both 1900.
Or is there more to it than that?

No, I'am using cingular unlocked on tmobile and tmobile phone on cingular.
But the settings for wap and email may be different and if the phone is not
offered by cingular or t-moible they may not be much help setting it up.
Also Cingular does use 850 in many markets unlike T-mobile. Not Gsm related
but I'am using a Nextel phone on Boost and because it uses a 32K vs 64K sim
some OTA updates wipe out the web/voice mail, a call to C.S. gets it
restored. Guess it is possible for GSM OTA updates to cause a problem with a
unsupported phone but I've never heard of this. Along the same line is
special firmware that Cingular or T-mobile could use that would make the
phones act different.

cingular uses 850 only in certain areas so if you have a 1900 only
phone you might not have service with cingular. AT&T and
VoiceStream/T-Mobile have 1900 with T-Mobile having 1900 only.
