making ring tones from cd's

can anyone tell me how to fix songs i converted into wave from cd's
it looks like i did it right but it won't load into my phone. thank
in advance. fyi.... i got a i730 phone from nextel. :mrgreen

Well, first, if you've ripped the track(s) to wav files, that's only the
first step.  If only for size benefits, you want to convert the wav files
to mp3 files.  Then you want to cut them to 30 seconds or less -- that's
about the length of time before the call gets sent to voicemail.

Now for the bad news.  Since the Samsung SCH-i730 is Verizon only, your
phone has to be the Motorola i730.  Navigating to Motorola's iden site &
going to the phone specs, unless I missed it, there is no mention of the
i730 using anything but midi files for ringtones.  So, unless there is
something that will create midis from wav files, what you have isn't even
the beginning of something usable on your phone.

thanks bill. but i do have the motorolla i730 and i can down loa
voice tones as well. now after i convert the file to wave i have t
convert to mp3? then that file, do i have to convert that one t
wave? sorrry but this is my first time trying to do this. your hel
is greatly appreciated. :
