Just curious, as most of you know there is a technical difference
between Cell service and PCS. How many PPL here refer to your phones as
cell phone no matter which they are????

PCS as in Personal Communications Service? ie Sprint?

I think just about everyone calls their service "cell" or "cellular".

Yeah, I know I do that also. I figure most PPL don't even know the
difference. Before I retired from a local Telco, I participated in the
original trial of PacBell Wireless. They did their trial run before it
was released to the public in San Diego, many many yrs. ago it seems
like. I'm not even sure how the participants down there were chosen.
But I was a communications tech, up North, and whenever this one phone
would ring near this one computer terminal, a few of us assigned to
that task would pick it up to take care of whatever, New, change, or
disconnect order needed to be done.
