Interesting that T-Moblie would differentiate between the two. Thanks
for the info. Not planning on going anytime soon. But was just
curious. Thanks all.
P.S. The last time my Wife and I went to visit family in Germany I had
purchased a calling LD card, maybe it was A.T.&Ts, which I still have
one in my wallet. And they had these local #s, in which country you
were in, getting the companies normal recording then being able to
place your call. Was fairly reasonable.
The card I'm carrying now, I must have purchased about six years ago,
at he Pismo Beach, Ca. Wal Mart, cause back then A.T.&T PCS phones,
which back then were either SBC Wireless, or still even PacBell
Wireless, didn't work below Carmel>>LOL. Anyway I chose the ATT card,
since it specifically said, "Does not Expire or timeout," on it.
Bought a 500 minute card for $30.00 (That's just 6¢/min), and I still
have betweeen 300>400 minutes left. The card looks so beat up, with
the 800# and pin being so difficult to read, that I took part of a 3 x
5 card, writing those #s down, and taping it around the card (With the
broken off corner). Heck that card might outlast me>>LOL.

It's more of a systemic problem. It takes some carriers several days to
report usage back the user's home carrier. Not a problem with postpaid
carriers, since they'll just add the charges to your next bill. With
prepaid, however, "billing" must be immediate to properly decrement your
balance. T-Mo prepaid will roam in Canada and Mexico- apparently they
worked the billing out with their partners there.
