I would throw that 6340 GAIT phone in the trash can. I had one for a year
and it was never able to send international SMS... I switched to a Nokia
6200 and everything worked off the bat. I bet I wasted at least 7 hours of
Cingular tech support trying to get that fixed.

I know it can send phone-to-pc and that should be good enough if you know
the international SMS email address (not just the country code and the phone
number), but the phone's email address, i.e.'

xxxYYYzzz@msg.carrier.com

I think I'd rather have a Nokia 6340 than one of those matchbox size
cellphones I have seen at Best Buy, et al.

But if the phone/network's  echo problem doesn't get resolved, Sis might be
in market for a different model.

Will keep the 6200 in mind thanks!

... I do not mean to be offensive but most American's just don't "get it"
when it comes to SMS. I simply wanted SMS as it is known all over the planet
except for here in the USA. SMS means you have a choice to call the number
or send text to the number. Simple. No weird things like e-mail addresses
and crap like that.

For some reason people around here think SMS and Text Messaging are the
same. They are NOT!!

If you know so much about it, then why did you ask the question?

SMS stands for Short Message Service. That, believe it or not, is text
messaging..! Do a google search on "SMS" if you don't believe me..! Email
is completely different.

BTW Please could you post at the bottom, thanks.
