Searching the v400 address book

Does the v400 support searching through the address book by typing in
more than one letter to narrow down the name selection?

In other words typing in "C" gets you to names begginning with C, then
typing H narrows the seach to names beginning with CH, then "U" would
take you to, say Chuck?

My V400 does not narrow the search like you want.
