What does everyone think of rollover minutes?  How well does it work for
people?

In  my opinon, role over minutes are the one thing that seperates
Cingular from there competition.  I've been able to bank a b bucket of
minutes and then since I use my phone for business durring the day use
these minutes on months when I make more calls.  It's a goopd thing and
even though some other carriers may offer a better monthly rate the role
over will keep me with Cingular

If you consistantly have rollover minutes you have picked a price plan
with too many minutes.

Incorrect logic.  What if you use about 350 mins/mo?  You can't take the
250 min/mo plan.  You have to take the 500 min/mo plan.  These examples
are from the Detroit new Nation Plan (GSM only).  You may be paying
more, but it's cheaper than .45/min over the 250 mins.

That's easy for you to say....  What Cory needs to do is look at his
average roll-over minutes under his current plan rate, and factor the
cost of those same average minutes as 'extra-cost minutes' under a
lesser plan.  Cory, keep in mind that extra-cost minute charges only
apply for minutes acually used, not just rolled over but unused.

Whichever plan (+ extra minute charges + taxes) produces the lesser
out-of-pocket expense is the plan for him, based upon his average
usage profile over a three or even six month period.

Clear as mud, heh?

Not having any of them I can't answer how well it works.

But, I think it is a GREAT thing. After all, I buy those minutes every month so
I should be able to (eventually) use them!

There are a lot of times when you might not use all your minutes and there are
going to be times when you need more minutes. Why not carry them over.

I applaud Cingular for being first!

I Love my roll-over minutes. My wife loves to gab with everyone and
these minutes really help us keep our bill on a manageble level.

It's good especially if you're out of the country for weeks at a time.
You have to continue having service so why not keep the minutes you pay
for but can't use...?
