| Is there a way to lock out the analog and tdma part of the Nokia 6340i. I
| want to use it on a GSM plan only.
I wanted to change to the GSM nation plan and I was told that the 6340i we
have wouldn't work with that plan (by both the local rep and the 800
cingular telephone sales force). Since I've only had it for a few months, I
don't qualify for an upgrade.
Have I been given bum information or is there some other reason by this
GSM/TDMA phone is unacceptable to the cingular GSM nation plans?

I know the 6340 is GSM1900 in additon to TDMA and Analog..
The 6340i had GSM850 & GSM1900 in addition to TDMA and Analog.
Cingular's Answer:
The "technical" reason the 6340i will not work on GSM Nation plan is that is
would work.
The "real" reason the 6340i will not work on the GSM Nation plan is its a
management decision and to reduce likelyhood there will be future disputed
off network TDMA and Analog roaming charges.
Good Luck!

You have been given bum information. I have used a 6340i with a SIM on a GSM
only plan.
