Fax over t62u?

Ok, I have a easy question on the t62u and fax, I can not seem to get it to
work. I purchased the cable (DCU-11), set it up on my laptop and the laptop
sees the modem.
I can not get it to send or receive a fax. It will not answer the incoming
fax call, and when I go to send a fax it just sits there.
what am I doing wrong?

Is there a wait for dial tone setting you need to turn off?

Ok, I have tried a number of different software packages, and I still have
the same problem, both WinXP and the software see the phone, but when I try
and send a fax it comes back with no dial tone. I have told it not to look
for a dial tone, but it does not help....

You may need a "modem" setting and a "software" setting to ignore the
dial tone (you don't have one with a cell phone).

I guess my next question would be how does one set the "modem" settings and
the "software" settings....
