I would like to get a different area code (Boston area).  I currently
have a Hartford CT area code.  Cingular says you need to have a
mailing address in the area where you want to change your number to.

Are there any other easy and cheap ways to get a number in a different
area code that is not a "home" market?

Get a P.O. Box or use someone else's address.
