I'm thinking of getting a Nokia 6340i for my existing Cingular Nation 900
Plan. Is there anything I should know about this phone and a national
plan? I don't want any surprises as I travel.
I currently have an old Nokia 6120 which works just about everywhere I've
been. I'm based in Southern NJ (suburb of Philly) but I travel all over
the US.
Thanks for any advice, warnings, etc.
Peter

The Nokia 6340i will add two bands of GSM (850/1900 MHz), and an
additional TDMA band (1900 MHz) to what you had on your 6120, so your
chances of getting some kind of digital signal will be greatly increased.
The Nokia 6120 is what I had prior to getting my Nokia 6340i in April
2003. I highly recommend the Nokia 6340i for its coverage ability and
features. It is actually a 5 mode phone in that it has two GSM bands, two
TDMA bands, and AMPS (analog). If you were like me, with the Nokia 6120, you
may have wound up using analog in quite a few parts of the country, as it
was missing 1900 MHz TDMA. With the 6340i, you should be able to get cell
phone service wherever there is cell phone service! (In the US, anyway.)
Have a good one,
Mark A, Smith

HI Pete. I live in Northwest Jersey Rockaway and am starting to use a
Gait phone for some things. So far I have found it to be an excellent
phone. What amazes me is that even with the internal antena it works
extremely well. I've used it in fringe areas and have had great
reception and transmition. I would say to take advantage of all that
cingular has to offer you'll want to get one.
