I have a Nokia 3650 phone that I would like to use on the Cingular
system  in the North Texas area.  There are conflicting reports about
the compatibility of this phone with their network.

Comments on success or failure?

thanks

The 3560 is a TDMA phone. Cingular is not offering TDMA service/plans
anymore.  Not in Texas anyway.

I don't know what a Nokia 3560 is. The 3650 works with Cingular, it's
the phone I own and use daily.

I think you need to pay attention to the model number asked about.
The 3650 is a *GSM* model that receives 900/1800/1900 Mhz.  This model
will likely not work in all cingular areas since much of cingular is
850.  It will work fine in cingular areas that are entirely 1900 such
as California, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina and some small
pockets in other locations.  The 3600 is a model that is 850/1800/1900
and will work with cingular.  The 3620 will also work with cingular
and has 850/1800/1900.  The 3600 has the non-traditional circular
keypad and the 3620 has a traditional 3 X 4 keypad.

I have a 3650 in Arizona that I moved from T-Mobile to Cingular without
problems.  Works fine.
