Just arrived  in Orlando FL.  6340i shows Cingular full signal
strength and works fine but Field Test screen 2101 shows

-113      0   0
xxxxxx   0   0
xxxxxxxxxx
ACCM

Other test screens show lots of Xs.

Have I discovered GSM?
What gives?

Yes, you can confirm that on FT screen 2104. No SID and
no provider names (well, Cingular and Cingular E). Now
the action moves to the FT screens 0101 through 0113.

To get out of field test mode
Enter
*3001#12345#
Then turn your phone off and back on.
It should then be minus the "football diagrams"

In order to keep the Field Test as part of the Menu, and still disable
it, go to Field Test, and enter 0000 (OK). Valid Field Test screens are
0101-0113, and 2101-2109.
Be careful with 0113, as you can change your Cell Barr status, and
possibly find yourself using test cells. To keep from changing it, do not
enter Field Test 0113 directly, but instead scroll to it. Default for 0113
is CELL BARR ACCEPTED.
Holding down the * key for a few seconds will enter a "help" screen.
Holding down the * key for a few seconds again will return the screen to
normal Field Test.

Have a good one,

Mark A. Smith

Just what info does the 6340i's Field Test Mode tell you?
TIA
