Is there any way to override the preset for ³press and hold 1² on the
Motorola V551 and program in a pause along with the voicemail password so it
does not need to be entered each time?

Your input is very much appreciated.

Regards,
Tony

Yes, but I have lost the how-to info.  You do it in the menus.  Call
Motorola CS and have them walk you through it.  All I do now is just
push the 1 key until it dials.  I don't put in any password.

Menu>Messages>voicemail+menu<middle button>voicemail setup>voicemail
number>

just add 2 pauses at the end of the number already there with your password
and the # sign

Out of curiosity, does this setting get saved in the phone or on the SIM?

How do I add a pause? I used to use the tilde (~) or a comma (,). I
can't get either of them into the dial string. Which one do I use and
how do I get this dial string to accept non-numeric?
 As always, thanks!

press the menu button and you'll get several options - pause, wait, etc.
