MPX 220 Freezes...

up and loses service.

I am on my second Moto MPX 220 since Dec. 20, 2004 (in fact, Cingular
is sending me my third 220 tomorrow.)

My current problems are:
1)my phone will show "No Service" and I cannot receive calls or message
notifications but can make all the outgoing calls I want.  Upon making
a call the signal bars will light up to my normal range but as soon as
the outgoing call is ended it will show again "No Service" + the
ghostbuster symbol.  This happens about every 7-10 days and can be
fixed by hard reset (pulling battery out while power is on.)
2) Every 3 days or so my menus will be slow to come up and upon
receiving an incoming call (if not suffering from problem #1 above) the
caller ID will freeze and the ring will freeze on one note and I am
unable to answer my phone until it un-freezes (often I am not able to
answer before the call rolls over to my voice mail).  This problem can
also be fixed by doing a hard reset as described above (so now I'm
having to reset my phone every couple of days!?!?!?)

As mentioned, this is my second phone (have only had it for ~2 weeks)
and on my first phone I was experiencing problem #2 above as well as
the display looking like someone changed the resolution on the screen.

I feel most certain that I will be sending my 3rd MPX 220 back to
Cingular in about 2 weeks or so as noone at Cingular is willing to
admit there is a problem and will only send me new phones with the same
problem.

Has anyone else out there experienced anything like this?

Thanks everyone!

Well, just to update anyone who has read this...I had to replace my
third MPX 220 last Sunday.  I tried to answer the phone 13 times for
one call...each time I answered it would freeze up and each time I hit
the answer key it showed 1 missed call, 2 missed calls....13 missed
calls.

I couldn't take it any more...upgraded to the Blackberry 7290.

My two cents...stay away from the MPX 220.  Cingular still refuses to
accept that there is a problem with this phone and wouldn't help me
with the purchase of a working, replacement phone.

actually they have identified a major problem and recalled the phone.
if you contact cingular they will even give you a free bluetooth
headset via motorola for the trouble.  also keep in mind Cingular is
not the manufacture... MOTOROLA is the manufacture

Gee, would that be the free headset that doesn't allow you to make
handsfree voice dials? I already got one of those from Moto, thanks.
