I'm leaning toward the RAZR.  Love the size, design, features and weight.
Anyone have thsi phone and have any opinions on it, good or bad?

Is there anything in the pipeline that I should wait for?

The Motorola v650 looks promising.

Sure it does....

Can you give me a link to the V650?

Of course not. I'm sure you meant the V635/630.

Here is the quote:

The Motorola V635-likely to debut as a Cingular handset here in the US due
to the EDGE data capabilities-isn't much to speak of in general, with the
exception of the use of a TransFlash memory card which is said to be
user-accessible via USB. That means copying data on and off the phone (like
pictures from its 1-megapixel camera) should be as easy as plugging in a USB
cable.

hardly a ringing endorsment here is your link to it.

I am waiting for something to replace my v400 with, and
do not like the razr (no edge) am bored with the v550
(same as v400 except edge) and this seems like another
incremental upgrade (same as v550 with photo download)

I guess we are still waiting for the next gen of phones.

plus it's yet another stupid clamshell design which feels like a huge
brick in your pocket. I want a small phone damnit. why does cingular's
phone selection suck so bad. i've got the nokia 6230b, and love it, if
the bluetooth worked with my bmw or my powerbook. unfortunately, it does
neither, and i'm a little reluctatnt to buy the RAZR because it costs a
fortune without a new contract, and it's a motorola, which i hated last
time i had one (a v400)

I like the RAZR so much I'm getting my third one.

I know that sounds ridiculous but the first one was $189 from Amazon
(and I got a $50 credit from that because I saw it a week later for
$139).

Unfortunately, I only had that one for a week and lost it!  I've had
some expensive phones over the years but this is the first one I ever
lost and I always had insurance anyway.  Can't get it, and my
homeowners has a high deductable.

Anyway, second one cost me $490 including a replacement SIM.  It's
from France so I get to see if I'm on Cingular, ATT or TM towers and
includes three games (oh boy).  The only drawback is that I had to
enter all the GPRS settings by hand.  That and the money...

I'm so happy with the coverage and performance that I'm getting rid of
my TM account that my wife uses (which is almost as useless as my
Nextel phone here) and getting her a line on my Cingular account.

And, I'm getting a black RAZR for $300 and she gets the silver one.
