I somehow got on Cingular's mailing list and got this "free offer" in
the mail:  An LG C1300.  What I would like to know is if anyone has any
practical experience with this model--I've never used an LG phone
before, nor have I ever been a Cingular customer.  I am currently on a
month-to month basis with my current provider and can jump ship at any
moment given the proper information...

I think the Cingular offer is just and OK deal.  You can do much better by
going to an independent dealer who will discount the phone just to get your
business.

Online, amazon.com is good but you have to wait for the mail-in rebate.

This is true in every case. More and more sales have one price prominantyl
displayed and then in small print a much larger price with a statement that
the lower price is after a Mail in Rebate.

My wife and Son recently transitioned from TDMA to GSM. When I sent them to
the store I told them to get the LG1400. They got the LG1300 - each.

Although my son's phone seems to work better than my wifes phone, they are
both marginal at best.

I recently got the LG1400 and it works considerably better within our home.

For comparisons go to http://www.phonescoop.com. In the upper right hand
corner is a box to "Jump" to a particulat phone. Jump to the LG1300 and read
the reviews. Then go back and jump to the 1400 and read it's reviews, as
different as night and day.

However, Cingulars Web Site no longer has the LG1400. No indication why it
has been removed. Yet they still have the LG1300.
