V180 Battery Life

A few weeks ago, I bought 2 V180 phones from Cingular.  Based on what I'd
read, I expected battery life significantly better than what I'm seeing.
One phone won't make it through 2 days with minimal (less than 10 minutes)
phone use.  The other makes it about 12 hours longer with less than 60
minutes of phone use.

Is this typical?  What kind of performance are other people seeing?

Thanks-

Jim

Not at all typical from my experiences.
We have 4 of them and not unusual for one or more to go a couple days
without a recharge and 2-3 hours of talk time with no issues.

Something's wrong.  I've had a couple of V180s with much better battery
life than that.

I just got a warranty replacement, and the second one performs as well
as my original one.  I wonder if yours isn't a battery problem.  2
batteries, actually.

Swap batteries and see if the "12 hours longer" stays with the battery
or with the phone.

Some third party cases (like the ones sold by Office Depot) fit so
tight, that buttons may be depressed leaving the backlight on, and
draining the battery.

Well, this turned out to be a good idea, but I'm not sure why.  When I
swapped the batteries, performance increased dramatically.  It's been about
two days with typical use, and I'm still at 6 (full charge) for both phones.
By now they would have been less than half previously.  Go figure.  Thanks
for the suggestion!

Hi:

We signed up with Cingular 12/24 and got 2 V180's.  I recently noticed
that
the batteries also seem to drain quickly.  I do play some games now and
then
but should the draw be enough to where I go from fully charged "6" to a
"2"
by the end of the day?

Also, if I leave a game running during the day but not play the game does
that consume battery as well?

Thanks.

Bob
