Rookie in need of help - connecting to PC

Hello,
can anyone help me - I want to be able to upload to my phone (z500a) mp3's
from my hard drive  but cannot make a connection to my pc.

how is it done?

I'm new to this and am a little confuse with WAP and such...
do I need a WAP if i just want to connect to my pc?

I am not familiar with your phone model, but in general you need a data
cable or else a bluetooth connection (both phone and PC must have this
feature).  You also probably need software to make this work, and I've
read that the phone companies often disable features on their phones
that would allow downloading of MP3's, sounds, or pictures because that
takes away a profit center that they have for selling ringtones &
wallpapers, and sending photos over your cellular connection that incur
service fees.
