Voicemail woes...

I have always been a fan of Cingular and have had my current number with
Cingular for about 6 years (since way back when it was BellSouth Mobility).
The only problems that I have had, is that several times throughout the
years, certain features will mysteriously disappear from my account.  Once
it was Call Waiting, then Caller ID, and Voicemail a couple of times.

This last time that Voicemail disappeared from my account, I called up
customer service to have it put back on, and the rep gave me a new voicemail
system I have never had before.  The computer has a different voice, it
doesn't automatically play the first message, and it does not tell you the
day and time of the message.  This has become very annoying, especially
after having one particular voicemail system for 6 years.

I checked the bill, and on my girlfriend's phone, which I also pay for with
my family share account.  On her feature list, it says "Wireless Voicemail -
Basic N/C."  On the features for my phone, it says "Basic Voicemail - N/C."
Her phone has the regular old voicemail system I have grown so accustomed to
and strongly desire to have back on my phone.

I called up Cingular and told the cust. serv. lady, and she just reset my
voicemail to the same crappy system.  What do I need to do to get my regular
voicemail back that plays the first msg automatically and tells me the day
and time of msg?

Thanks,
James

ok, my voicemail seems to work fine now.  However, the new problem is that
the number saved in the phone as the number for voicemail is a voicemail
server that gives me error messages.

If I dial myself, the voicemail works.

My phone does not let me change the number dialed out for voice mail.

It is a Samsung P107.  What can I do to change the voicemail number dialed?

Thanks,

Auto playback is just a setting in your voicemail setup.  You can have
it play automatically or require that you press a key (usually 1) to
play the message(s.)
