Some recent threads got me thinking, are there prepaid SIM cards available
in the US?  I've seen prepaid phones at Radio Shack and such, but never
SIMS.
If/when they are available, do they give you another phone # or use your
current one?
AFAIK, the SIM is what has the #, so I'd think it'd change.
If so, does the phone also send it's (I forget what, IMF or some such) ID
# still, or is it totally anonymous like a whole prepaid phone would be
(if you paid cash)?
Just one of those things I wonder about, not that I actually would need it
now.

Prepaid SIM packs can be had from both T-Mobile and from cingular in
their corporate stores.  However, you'll get a much better deal if you
look at eBay auctions where you'll find the same packages many times
with more minutes than you could get from a corporate store.

Sorry, I don't play jeopardy very well.

If you buy new service with a different SIM of course it will have a
different number.  The SIM determines what the number is.
