O.k. So the CS rep. at Cingular claims that they will give me the
unlock code for my RAZR but only after 3 months of continuous service.
Can someone verify if this is accurate? Thanks,

If you get it in writing, then you might get it.
If you go by verbal promises, not likely.

I'm not sure if they said three months or six months. I really didn't pay
attention to that since I've been a customer for well over a year. But
Cingular did provide me with an unlock code for my V551 so I could use a
China Unicom prepaid SIMM during my recent vacation trip to China. BTW, to
unlock my phone, I first had to install a non-Cingular SIMM. Then when I
turned the phone on again, a screen appeared asking for the unlock code. I
went to a T-Mobile dealer and borrowed a non-active T-Mobile SIMM while I
unlocked my phone. Then I put my Cingular SIMM back in. Once I got to
China, I installed my new China-Unicom prepaid SIMM and it worked just fine.

I got my unlock code from them with 2 months of service. Just ask the CS
rep to put the request for the code in for you. Once the request is sent to
the correct department they will contact the same CS rep who will call you
with the code.

i was told no
they said they did it BEFORE they purchased att and had international
roaming
but now that they do have international roaming (through the old att
agreements) they would no longer be offering unlock codes.
at least out here in california.

They still offer the unlock code in Chicago. You must sign up for
international roaming then get the unlock code then you can cancel
international roaming. You have to be a customer for some length of
time (a few months I believe).
I got my unlock code.
