I am trying to use my Nokia 6820 which has a built in modem along with a
data cable to get on the internet with my laptop when I am away from home &
any wifi locations.  So far I am not having much luck.  I have seen numerous
different settings when I searched under Google.  Can anyone advise me what
the current settings should be for the access point name, username &
password (if needed).  I used to be an ATT Wireless customer if that makes
any difference.

I am really getting frustrated but I don't want to go out and get a wireless
pc card & add another account if I can just use my cell phone.  Would a
wireless pc card be any faster than my cell phone (if I can ever get it to
work)?  Is it worth buying & adding another account?

Any help is much appreciated.

Have you verified with Cingular that your phone number is set up for a
data plan?  They have some plans that use GPRS/EDGE service, and other
plans that use CSD service.

Right now I have a data plan for wireless internet (mmode when it was ATT)
on my phone.  If I can ever get this up & running I am just going to upgrade
to the unlimited plan.

That brings me to another question, if I went the pc card route, how many mb
per month would be needed to say check my email & do some surfing on my
lunch hour every day?

Thanks,
Rich

I have a data package and use Motorola Mobile PhoneTools (motorola
v551 phone).  Software does all the setup once it detects the phone is
connected.  All google searching I have done and millions of people
are having trouble using phone unless they have gprs instead of CSD.
