NO! I was in a Cingular store today, and asked about it... YES the
cheapest plan they now offer, at least in California, is the $39.95
plan.... what a "welcome" to possible new ATT customers who will have to
switch to GSM  (eventually) at the now higher rates....

I guess my current provider, TMobile, will be getting a lot of new "low
cost plan" signups....

That's if you're getting new plan.  You won't get a 29.99
plan if you're signing up new.  What's on their freaking
business mind?  Everybody need at least 450 minutes and 5000
off-peak minutes out of a $39.99 plan plus 20-25% taxes?
They really suck money out of you.  They really suck hard.

I just got off with Cingular Customer Service.  These
American Corporations are really dogs. Heard me that I'd
drop their service since they don't have a 29.99 plan that I
can switch to, had me wait a few second and came back with a
$29.95 plan.  Too bad I don't bite.

AT&T was much better than Cingular and had more affordable
options and more friendly people service.  In contract,
Cingular has the programmed robotic service. But that might
just be my experience.

actually the prepaid plan used to be 29.99 and airtime and now
it looks like there are 2 prepaid plans, each has no monthly
charge, one is 25 cents a minute, the other is 10 cents a minute
with a dollar a day charge for each day you use it. but this is
from a quick read of the linked page.
