Have you each tried to send/receive to someone within your own provider's
system?

not yet as that phone isn't in our system and he is having a problem
overall.

To the best of my knowledge, this is not possible. You would probably have to
send the pictures via an e-mail attachment.

both phones must have multimedia messaging as an added feature if this
will work at all. I am sorry but between two different providers I do
not know. Have him send it to an email address like yahoo which is
free.

Not sure you can MMS sprint yet. check cingular.co
