I'm in the Process of switching from a Cingular 'Blue' plan to a Cingular
'Orange' Plan...  I was just put on the 'Blue' plan in January and purchased
two Motorola v180 phones and a Nokia 6010.  Both phones were on the 'Both'
plan options. I was hoping to be able to use them on the 'Orange' plan when
I had to convert.

Now that I'm in the process of converting to 'Orange' my rep says I need to
junk the phones and get new ones. I asked him to provide unlock codes for
them and he said that his manager said the blue side of Cingular does not
provide unlock codes for phones to work on the 'Orange' plans.

Seems like I've read a bunch of you have received unlock codes from
Cingular...  Any tips on how I need to convince them to give me them?

Should I just get three free Nokia 3120s or three 6010s instead?

Thanks,
 Scott<-

If the phones were originally on the AT&T Wireless network you cannot
get unlock codes from cingular.  It's their policy.  Depending on the
phone however you should be able to get the unlock code either with a
downloadable code calculator or through a third-party to do it for
you.
